Cowboys’ deal with UNT step closer

The University of North Texas is one step closer to a multi-year agreement with the Dallas Cowboys that would make the university an exclusive partner with the organization.

During a meeting Friday morning at the UNT System Building in Dallas, the Board of Regents unanimously voted to give Chancellor Lee Jackson the authority to execute the agreement without board oversight when terms are reached. It was one of several items approved at the meeting.

Houston, Apr 24 (PTI) Padma Shri awardee Indian-American Ashok Mago has received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Governor Greg Abbott appointed three members to the University of North Texas System Board of Regents with terms set to expire on May 22, 2021. These appointees, and one re-appointee include A.K. Mago, Laura Wright and Brint Ryan, said a press release Monday. According to the press release, chairman and CEO of Mago and Associates, Inc., A.K. Mago received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas. He was awarded the Padma Shri Award by the president of India in 2014 and is a member of the Dallas Regional Chamber Board.

Regents expected to vote today on budget, capital projects plan

FORT WORTH — The University of North Texas Board of Regents is expected to vote today on the university budget and a capital projects plan, after briefings Thursday.

The board will also meet in an executive session today at the UNT Health Science Center to discuss its ongoing financial issues, “evaluation and compensation” for System Chancellor Lee Jackson and leasing property in Frisco for offices and classrooms.

This year, UNT’s proposed budget accounts for $675.8 million in revenues and $642.9 million in expenses.
