Two University of North Texas students were one of the top-three finalist teams to compete in one of the retail industry’s biggest events of 2017, the National Retail Federation Foundation BIG Show.

Hailey Turner, of Flower Mound, and Sarah Muller, of Mount Olive Township, New Jersey, won the third place prize of $1,500 each in the National Retail Federation Foundation Student Challenge.

Graduate student lands national scholarship

Laura Anne Hunt, a master’s student studying international sustainable tourism, earned the National Tour Association Travel Leaders Scholarship. The scholarship, for graduate students nationwide, named Hunt the sole recipient.

In addition to a $2,000 award, she has her registration to the annual “Tourism Rocks” conference paid for, and she’ll shadow mentors at the event.
