From the gymnasium at Little Elm High School to the rink at the Allen Event Center, Julia Vivian has made her mark dancing and cheerleading. And now, the Allen American Ice Angel is looking to take her talents to the highest level of hockey.

After spending two years as a dancer for the Allen Americans minor league hockey team, Vivian is planning to try out for the Dallas Stars cheerleaders and ice girls in July. It’s a challenge, she admits, that makes her nervous, but she’s definitely up to the task.

DENTON, Texas -A young woman who has had to overcome life-changing obstacles was able to accomplish her goal of graduating from the University of North Texas at Denton. However, Emily Hernandez did not have the same motivations to walk the stage as most other graduates.Hernandez barely survived a horrendous accident in 2009 which killed a friend in her vehicle. She was driving to class at UNT when her truck hit a guard-rail in Saginaw and flew off a bridge on Interstate 820. She is paralyzed from the waist down. She suffered serious injuries including a broken neck and back, her lungs collapsed twice and her brain...

Saturday marks a big day for the University of North Texas.The new Apogee football stadium will be put to use for the first time as North Texas takes on the University of Houston. The opening game is extra special for a group of loyal fans called the Geezles. "How that name came about really is immaterial. It is what they became once they were on campus and what they did with themselves. That s what I like to think about," said James Stinson, Geezle member.
