Former Prospect quarterback Devin O’Hara has found a new home for the fall 2016 season: the University of North Texas.

O’Hara, who graduated from Prospect in 2013, started his college career at Western Illinois University.

As a redshirt freshman, O’Hara played in just 3 games in 2014 and didn’t throw a single pass. He recorded 4 carries for 6 yards and punted once for 50 yards.

It was a big change for O’Hara who passed for 1,500 yards and 8 touchdowns, and rushed for over 1,600 yards and 30 touchdowns as a senior at Prospect. He also counted 599 yards receiving with 7 TDs for the Knights.

Dickenson gets nod to be UNT’s acting AD

Hank Dickenson, a longtime North Texas athletic department official, was named the school’s acting athletic director on Monday.

Dickenson will lead UNT’s athletic department while the school looks for a replacement for Rick Villarreal, who stepped down May 23. Villarreal served as UNT’s athletic director for more than 15 years.

Villarreal will remain in his role as UNT’s athletic director until June 20.

“I am very humbled and honored that the president allowed me to be in that role and to be a part of a really exciting project,” Dickenson said of UNT’s transition.

North Texas has picked up a commitment from junior college quarterback Devin O’Hara.

The DuPage standout threw for 1,786 yards and and 21 touchdowns last season. He was a sophomore last season. Here are his Hudl highlights.

Darrion Landry thought he was done with the recruiting process a few months ago when he committed to Toledo.

An unexpected academic situation changed the Blinn College wide receiver’s plans and could open the door for UNT, which has a connection that could pay dividends.

Landry didn’t complete one course he needed at Blinn to qualify to transfer. He is taking the class now and looking for a school to land at over the summer.
