City's Rexroat to take public relations reins

It’s been several years since the City of Weatherford has had a public relations manager, but this fiscal year, Weatherford City Council approved money from the budget to go toward reestablishing the position. This week, the city officially announced Blake Rexroat, the city’s current special events coordinator, as the new PR manager. Rexroat will assume his new position Jan. 26.

Rexroat signed on with the city’s Parks, Recreation and Special Events Department in February 2014, where he helped organize and promote city events.

McKinney ISD names new assistant superintendent, chief HR officer

McKinney ISD has hired Tamira Griffin, Plano ISD's chief human resources officer, to serve in the same position and as assistant superintendent.

The McKinney ISD board approved the hire at a work study meeting Tuesday. Griffin will begin her duties in McKinney on Jan. 20.

Griffin, who has spent the last 14 years as chief human resources officer for Plano ISD, will replace former Chief Human Resources Officer J. Davis, who retired this month. She will lead a staff of 13 HR professionals who support 2,677 district employees, 446 substitutes and about 24,500 students.

North Texas football hires new defensive coordinator

Chris Cosh, the defensive line coach at the University of Buffalo in 2014, was announced Wednesday as the new defensive coordinator at North Texas.

Cosh has served as a defensive coordinator for 16 of his 30 seasons in coaching, including time at Kansas State, Maryland, South Carolina, Michigan State and Illinois. He will replace John Skladany who retired at the end of the season.
