The University President Dr. V. Rawlins gave him the prestigious award in a ceremony last week for his extraordinary contributions to peace building and research initiatives.

From North Texas E-News: The University of North Texas�has been named among the top colleges that awarded the most bachelors degrees to African Americans in the 2009-10 academic year, by Diverse Issues in Higher Education magazine.UNT is ranked among the top 20 colleges and universities on the list, and the top university in Texas for graduating the most African American college students. Other Texas universities on the list include Texas Southern University, Texas Womans University and the University of Houston.
