Perot Museum's TECH Truck Inspires Future Scientists

Dallas’ Perot Museum of Nature and Science just launched its second TECH Truck. Designed to take science to the streets, the truck recently visited UNT’s campus in South Dallas. 

Middle school girls in a summer science program are assembling pre-cut wood using nuts bolts and screws. They’re getting help from the Perot Museum’s TECH Truck educator, Michael Hughes.

He explains what’s happening. “And so today we’re building trebuchets.”

DENTON, Texas - The maestro José Hernández returned to Texas in July, accompanied by Mariachi Sol de Mexico to join colleagues ye instructors University of North Texas, to provide a summer workshop for students of the region.

Learn how to make a robot, discover more about the stars or find out how crime scene investigators identify fingerprints at Grandparents University, a two-day summer camp offered by the University of North Texas on June 19-20.

Grandparents — or other family members — and their young ones from ages 7 to 12 are invited to pick two out of 10 “majors” for hands-on experience. Campers have the option of staying in a university residence hall, where they can get an authentic taste of college life.
