DART rail adds another convenient extension that stretches Blue Line south

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has nailed down a date on the southern extension of the Blue Line that will go to UNT-Dallas.

Called "the South Oak Cliff Blue Line Extension," it will extend the Blue Line south approximately 2.6 miles, from the Ledbetter Station toward the University of North Texas (UNT) Dallas Campus, at the southeast corner of Camp Wisdom Road and University Hills Boulevard.

This will be the southernmost end of the Blue Line, running approximately 3 miles past the current end station at Ledbetter. The extension is scheduled to open on Monday, October 24.

UNT student wins video contest

A high school student from Maryland and an undergraduate student from Texas were named winners of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s (ARTBA) 5th annual “Student Transportation Video Contest.”  They will each receive a $500 cash prize.

The association received 26 entries this year in two categories.  Sponsored by ARTBA’s Research and Education Division (RED), the contest aims to raise awareness about infrastructure issues by challenging students to develop a brief video exploring various topics relating to America’s transportation network.
