Your library has been chosen to become a PEARL, which stands for Promoting and Enhancing the Advancement of Rural Libraries. This program was created by the University of North Texas, with a mission “to strengthen the public library as an essential part of community life in rural Texas communities.”

Director Carrie Custer attended a two-day workshop at Denton to learn more about the program. Each of 105 libraries will create a Community Outreach Plan. Carrie has been surveying various groups to find out what Lindale needs and what the library can do.

A project will be chosen and completed within two years, and the library will be given a $1,000 award. We know we can count on your help and support.
