Philanthropist Paul Voertman was a kind heart Denton will fondly remember

Paul Voertman may not be a household name in Dallas, but the former owner of an iconic bookstore was a philanthropic giant in Denton. This week, the university announced that Voertman, who died in June at age 88, left  $10 million, the largest  bequest in school history, to the University of North Texas' colleges of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Music and Visual Arts and Design for scholarships, fellowships, and the Opera Production Fund.
