Who says kids don't like to read? No one in Lakehills should. The Lakehills unit of the Boys & Girls Club of Bandera County and the Lakehills Area Library held cooperating summer reading programs this year and over 100 area children read hundreds and hundreds of books over a two-month period.

The children in the two programs will have celebrated their success yesterday and today with a hot dog party and prizes. The Boys & Girls club children partied at Hill Country Elementary School yesterday and the library children at the library today.

Some of the children already had library cards.  The dual reading program was funded in part by a grant from the Priddy Foundation through the University of North Texas in Denton.
