Survey: Obesity up, screenings down

Health officials hope the latest snapshots of Amarillo can help the city, hospitals and nonprofit agencies make residents a little healthier.

Northwest Texas Health System and the Amarillo Department of Public Health on Tuesday presented the results of two health assessments, one conducted by a contractor and one by Texas Health Institute.

About 800 people in Potter and Randall counties responded to the random telephone survey conducted this year by the University of North Texas Research Survey Center.
